Kathryn founded The Gilded Nib out of a long love of beautiful handwriting and stationery. As a child, she created and sold hand drawn and lettered note cards and gift enclosure cards for family and friends. This interest continued, and she is fortunate to have been able to transform this passion for beautiful correspondence into the creation of The Gilded Nib.
As an active member of IAMPETH, the International Association of Master Penman, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting, Kathryn has been formally trained in Copperplate and Spencerian pointed pen calligraphy. She continues her education in the art of calligraphy, studying under some of the most renowned calligraphers and master penman in the country.
Kathryn operates The Gilded Nib out of her home studio in Alabama where she lives with her family.
